Yesterday we celebrated the feast of St. Martin de Porres. What a man of compassion! My heart is aching for all of us to show compassion to each other. St. Martin, pray for us. Once St. Martin took in a sick man covered with ulcers and gave him his bed. This didn't sit well with one of his fellow brothers. St. Martin replied with: "Compassion, my dear Brother, is preferable to cleanliness."
